Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic assistant/teacher for a Montessori Early Childhood classroom. This teaching position supports students by creating a happy, caring and safe environment. Maitland Montessori School is a well-established and respected Montessori School. Training could be offered to the right candidate should they wish to work towards a Montessori Credential.

Duties

• Assisting the classroom teachers in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of Maitland Montessori School
• Work with a team of trained lead teachers giving a pupil staff ratio of 1 to 10.
• Treat each child with dignity and respect
• Assist in lesson planning and maintaining the classroom environment
• Attend staff meetings
• Interest in gaining additional skills to promote self-growth
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct when interacting with staff, parents, and visitors
• Actively engage in activities, manage cleanliness, order, and availability of classroom materials.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Must be willing to meet DCF requirements within one year of date of hire
• Enthusiasm and love for children
• Ability to work with a team
• Must clear full background check
• Qualify for Infant/Child CPR and First Aid certification offered by the school within the first month of hire.
