Our mission is to revolutionise the maritime industry through advanced battery technology, improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Production Technician to join our team and contribute to the production of high-quality, safe battery systems for marine applications.

Position Overview

The Electrical Production Technician will be responsible for the assembly, testing and support of electrical and battery system components within a production environment. The role involves hands-on manufacturing tasks, quality checks, fault-finding, and collaboration with engineering, test and quality teams to ensure products meet design and safety requirements for marine use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly: Build electrical subassemblies, modules and complete battery units following engineering drawings, work instructions and safety procedures.

  • Wiring and Harnessing: Prepare and terminate cables, assemble wiring looms, and perform connectorisation to specified standards.

  • Testing: Execute electrical and functional tests using test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, battery test rigs) and record results in test documentation.

  • Component Inspection: Carry out visual and electrical inspections, soldering and mechanical checks to ensure components and assemblies meet quality criteria.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and rectify manufacturing faults, liaise with engineering to resolve recurring issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Process Compliance: Follow and contribute to the development of assembly procedures, test protocols and quality control processes to meet industry and company standards.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate build records, test reports and non-conformance documentation in accordance with quality systems.

  • Health & Safety: Work safely within the production environment, adhere to electrical safety rules, risk assessments and safe working practices.

  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, yield and product reliability.

Qualifications

  • Education: GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths plus relevant vocational qualifications (e.g. Level 3 NVQ) or equivalent experience in electrical assembly.

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical assembly, manufacturing or related roles; experience with battery systems, power electronics or wiring harness assembly is desirable.

  • Technical Skills: Competent with hand tools, soldering, crimping tools, cable management and basic test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope); familiarity with IPC soldering standards advantageous.

  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to follow drawings, work instructions and inspection criteria with high attention to detail.

  • Problem Solving: Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work with engineering to implement corrective measures.

  • Teamwork: Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across production, test and engineering teams.

  • Health & Safety Awareness: Understanding of electrical safety, PPE and safe handling of batteries and high-voltage components.

  • IT Skills: Basic computer literacy for recording test data and using production documentation systems.

What We Offer

  • A dynamic and innovative work environment at the forefront of sustainable marine technology with opportunities for professional growth and development.

  • Hands-on role contributing directly to the transition to cleaner marine transport.

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.

  • Supportive, multidisciplinary team and a culture that values safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Additional Information

We welcome applications from candidates of all backgrounds. If you have the relevant skills and a commitment to quality and safety, please apply with your CV and a brief covering statement outlining your experience in electrical manufacturing or battery-related assembly.
