Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicatedMedical Assistant (Bilingual English/Spanish) to join our Pediatric department at El Nuevo San Juan (ENSJ) who can work collaboratively with the Department Chair and Director to deliver high-quality patient care. Based out of our flagship health center, El Nuevo San Juan, the Medical Assistant will support patient's vitals, provider support, and administrative duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required. 
• Medical Assistant Certificate or completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required. 
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and software.
• Flexible schedule.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in a high-volume environment.
• Kindness, compassion, and patient-centered work ethic.

Key Duties:

• Prepares examination rooms, stocks inventory, maintains autoclave, and maintains sterilization and infection control standards.
• Obtains vital signs, chief complaint, medical history and accurate records in medical records.
• Assists providers during all aspects of exams, treatments, and ambulatory procedures.
• When applicable- provides administrative support, registers and verifies patient demographics, supports processing referrals.  
• Maintains room logs and walk the patients to the exam room.
• Prepare patients for providers and patients template management.
• Schedules and reschedule appointments, recall patients for required services and make and scanned referrals.
• Supports other duties and special projects as assigned. 

Starting Compensation: Minimum: $23.00/hour; Maximum: $23.00/hour 

Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule:

Candidates must be available to work onsite based in the Bronx. Candidates must possess availability to work 5-day shifts- Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm and 9am-6pm shifts with rotating Saturdays with a day off during week when Saturday shifts.
