Assistant Event Producer

Big City Bride | Chicago, IL | Full-Time | In-Person | Lincoln Park Office

About Big City Bride: Big City Bride is Chicago’s only full-time wedding planning company. Located in the heart of Lincoln Park, our vibrant office and experienced team is known for high-touch service, standout celebrations, and a fun work environment.

The Position: Full-time role supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of weddings/events, along with day-to-day operational needs that power a busy Big City Bride team.

Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate is a hospitality-minded professional who is self-motivated, personable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This person is comfortable working on high-profile events, interacting with clients and event partners.

Experience in events, hospitality, venues, catering, customer service, or luxury service is preferred.

This person is eager to learn, contribute, and grow into a long-term professional role with our well-established company and wonderfully, supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting our team with planning, coordination, and execution of weddings and events
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take detailed notes, and provide follow-through
  • Process client inquiries and ensure excellent customer service
  • Assist in sourcing and communicating with vendors
  • Project management tasks involving deadlines, schedules, documents, and project follow-through.
  • Prepare event timelines, floor plans, checklists, and other planning documents
  • Manage event setup and breakdown, transportation, and logistics
  • Assist with financial management: invoicing, bill pay, and tracking
  • Oversee daily office operations, including managing the office schedule, supplies, organization, and general office needs
  • Field new client inquiries
  • Coordinate internal office gatherings, team initiatives, and company-hosted events
  • Support with branding, marketing, promotions, social media, website relaunch, public relations and gifting programs

Qualifications

  • Event or hospitality experience required
  • Wedding, venue, catering, restaurant, hotel, retail, customer service, or office experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficient with Google Workspace, spreadsheets, and general office technology preferred

Schedule: This is a full-time, in-person position based out of our Lincoln Park office. This position requires availability for nights, weekends, and long hours typical of the wedding and event industry.
